Request:Build a new front garden using retaining walls to reduce the slope and keep with in the budget they supplied.
Challenges:Budgets are fantastic for us because it totally dictates what we can and cannot do. We will never compromise the quality process of the job just the materials we use. This is a great example, with the budget supplied we could not build a block or stone retaining wall. The customer did not like the look of sleeper walls so the compromise was to build a stained timber veneered wall.
Solution: The timber veneered walls look fantastic and allowed them extra money to redo their drive in exposed aggregate concrete with feature steps in the entrance. We also planted the job out in very low maintenance Grasses and Phormium’s as the customer spends their weekends at their holiday house and not it the garden.
